The PVS Pipe Visualisation Suiteis the latest software platform for the analysis and playback of downhole inspection logs used for non-destructive testing (NDT) of casing and tubing in the downhole oil and gas industry. Data from multifinger caliper, electromagnetic thickness and ultrasonic thickness measurement are input to PVS, which combines 2-dimensional log analysis and computation with powerful 3-dimensional imaging for the reconstruction of true measured geometry. The information derived from PVS is used to assess the condition of sub-surface tubulars regarding mechanical integrity and obstructions to the flow of well fluids. This in turn provides vital input on safety and environmental factors as well as information on potential cost savings and ways of increasing productivity.
The design and functionality of PVS draws on READ's expertise and many years' experience as one of the leading downhole inspection providers to the oil and gas sector. The analysis software has its roots in Multifinger Caliper operations and processing, utilising processes and algorithms that have become the cornerstone of the pipe inspection industry.
