The PVS Pipe Visualisation Suiteis the latest software platform for the analysis and playback of downhole inspection logs used for non-destructive testing (NDT) of casing and tubing in the downhole oil and gas industry. Data from multifinger caliper, electromagnetic thickness and ultrasonic thickness measurement are input to PVS, which combines 2-dimensional log analysis and computation with powerful 3-dimensional imaging for the reconstruction of true measured geometry. The information derived from PVS is used to assess the condition of sub-surface tubulars regarding mechanical integrity and obstructions to the flow of well fluids. This in turn provides vital input on safety and environmental factors as well as information on potential cost savings and ways of increasing productivity.
