Third Party Data Analysis Services

We provide expert analysis and interpretation of cased-hole logging data across a variety of services and disciplines. Typically, data acquisition is performed by READ’s own operations departments, but equally this interpretation may be performed on data acquired by a third party.

Supporting information for datasets and interpretation:

In order to facilitate an effective analysis of your data, we will require certain documentation and background information about the original survey:

  • Survey objectives and contact information (recommend original logging programme).
  • Full set of well details (schematics, tally, completion diagram, perforation intervals, PVT data).
  • Toolstring diagram for equipment run including serial numbers.
  • Tabulated list of files with associated depth ranges, logging speeds, flow rates, LQC comments (e.g. onsite engineers report).

The exact information required for successful analysis of a dataset may vary depending on the application and objectives of the survey. It is advised that these requirements be discussed as early as possible with a memeber of the READ analysis team so that information may be gathered prior to the operation commencing.

The following are details of how 3rd party data should be formatted and supplied in order for inputting into READ’s analysis systems:

Multifinger Caliper data specification:

  • Data from all arms and inclinometer (if applicable) in a single file for each depth interval.
  • Each arm presented in a separate column or trace.
  • Tool measurements presented as radii or radii doubled (not pairs of arms) and clearly labelled.
  • Arm data to be at resolution of 3DP (decimal places) for measurements in inches (2DP for mm).
  • Minimum depth sampling rate of 30 samples per foot (100 samples per metre)
  • Arm data un-centralised (i.e. no centralising algorithms applied).
  • Data to be unedited.

Production Log data specification:

  • Data from all sensors in a single file for each depth interval.
  • Each sensor presented in a separate column or trace.
  • Tool measurements presented as raw unfiltered counts.
  • All tool calibrations to be supplied with clearly labelled serial numbers and tool types.
  • Minimum depth sampling rate of 2 samples per foot (6 samples per metre)
  • Data to be unedited.
